Friends, well-wishers, and fans have been jamming the social media from the time the news broke.
Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, tweeted a photo of balloons that said, “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad,” with the message:
“They’re here! #beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday”
Excited fans were keen to know more about the babies and wanted to see pictures.
Here are some of the fan tweets:

In a style which has become so typical of the Queen, the due date was kept a secret all through her pregnancy.
So, on June 14, when reports of a security beef-up at her local hospital started doing the rounds on social media and the fact that she was spotted leaving her mansion, fans went into a tizzy.
Reportedly she gave birth to the twins just over a week ago but was being kept in hospital because of a minor concern.
When she could not make it to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame Awards in New York on June 15 there were speculations among fans that she had already delivered and was, for some reason, hiding the fact by uploading pre-delivery pictures on social media.
The speculations, though, were not unfounded in that, the most recent picture shows Beyoncé hugging Blue Ivy over a baby bump that is somewhat smaller than what was seen in an earlier black and white picture – meaning it was not recent.
What adds to this whole conspiracy theory, if you will, is that this is not the first time
Beyoncé has been accused of manipulating pictures on the social media.
This is what a fan tweeted on the issue – “Bet money Beyoncé gave birth and nobody knows.”
“There’s a good chance she’s playing us to buy a little privacy before the madness starts,” was the tweet from another fan.
Beyoncé ‘s mum Tina being spotted at a Los Angeles hospital, and her sister Solange canceling a Boston gig due to “scheduling conflicts,” could not have been mere coincidences with all that was going on.
Also, Jay Z and Blue Ivy were seen together at a local area hospital on Thursday.
As far as the sexes of the twins are concerned, TMZ has confirmed it’s a boy-girl combination.
“Beyoncé has given birth to a boy and a girl, but an issue surfaced that has kept them in the hospital for nearly a week … TMZ has confirmed.
Sources connected with the family tell us the twins were born Monday in a Los Angeles hospital. We’re told a “minor issue” surfaced, and as a result … doctors do not feel comfortable releasing them.
We do not know the nature of the issue.
One source told us Beyoncé also remains at the hospital, but as far as we know she’s okay. The babies are expected to be okay as well.
It’s unclear when everyone will be released” – source: TMZ
Married to rapper Jay Z since 2008 and parent to a five-year-old daughter (Blue Ivy) with Jay Z, the 35-year old Grammy-award-winning singer had announced the new arrivals back in February.
She had posted a photo of herself in lingerie and a green veil in front of a rather large bouquet (prefer not to call it wreath) with the following message.
“We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
The post has created a record becoming the most-liked Instagram post, ever.
In the following months, the “Drunk in Love” singer made a number of public appearances including a performance at the Grammy Awards just weeks after the announcement; and she was seen at her mother Tina Knowles Lawson’s Wearable Art Gala and the Beauty and the Beast premiere as well.
Queen Bey also made sure that the pregnancy was well documented on Instagram.
All said and done, along with 5-year old daughter Blue Ivy, the star couple is now proud parents of a girl-boy combination of twins, as well, and the world is happy for them.
