Multiple reports have suggested that Gwyneth Paltrow, 45, and her boyfriend of three years, Brad Falchuk, 46, have been engaged for a year now. A source told ET that the couple has intentionally kept their engagement a secret.
The Academy Award-winning actress has been wearing a number of rings on her left hand, including one on her ring finger. The ET source says, “She’s had the ring a long time.”
Paltrow met the executive producer and co-creator of the comedy-drama TV series, GLEE, in 2010. Reportedly, they had been dating for a year before they finally announced their relationship in 2015 at Robert Downey Jr’s 50th birthday bash.
According to Us Weekly, the couple will be unveiling their engagement photographs on Paltrow-owned lifestyle brand Goop’s website.
“They both knew it would happen, but it wasn’t a big thing to them because they were both in long marriages before. There wasn’t a rush,” a source has told the magazine.
In a podcast interview with Sophia Amoruso’s GirlBoss radio in August this year, Paltrow was pretty much candid about her relationship woes.
“I’m actually a pretty good friend and a good sister and a daughter and a mother but I am at my potentially most vulnerable and f–ked up in the romantic slice of the pie,” Paltrow explained. “So it’s taken me a lot of work to get to the place where I have a good romantic relationship.”
Ever since her engagement with Brad Pitt was called off, whom she dated from 1994 to 1997, Paltrow has harped about the need for public discretion in so far as her romantic life is concerned.
Soon after she broke off with Pitt, she got into a relationship with Ben Affleck breaking up with the handsome actor in early 1999. However, during the making of the film BOUNCE that same year, in which the two starred together, they got romantically attached once more, only to end it again, and for the last time, in 2000.
Just three weeks after her father Bruce Paltrow’s death in 2002, she met Chris Martin, lead singer for British rock band COLD PLAY, and tied the knot with him in December the next year.
Paltrow gave birth to their daughter Apple Blythe Alison Martin in 2004, while their son Moses Bruce Anthony Martin was born in 2006.
Speaking to Oprah on her show, she explained why she went with such an unusual name for her daughter.
“It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome and it’s biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and … clean! And I just thought, ‘Perfect!’.”
As for her son’s name, she confided that the name was inspired by the song “Moses,” written by hubby Martin before they were married.
The couple separated after ten years of marriage, which she made public in March 2014, calling the decision a “conscious uncoupling.” She filed for divorce in April 2015 and on July 14, 2016, the divorce was legally finalized.
Paltrow is best known for her role in the 1998 film SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE which won her the Academy and the Golden Globe awards for Best Actress.
Paltrow launched GOOP, a weekly e-mail newsletter on lifestyle brands, in September 2008 with slogans such as NOURISH THE INNER ASPECT, POLICE YOUR THOUGHTS, and ELIMINATE WHITE FOODS.
Over the years GOOP has grown into an e-commerce company generating its revenue from advertising as well as GOOP line of clothing, books, scented candles and candlesticks and a perfume called Edition 01.
Brad Falchuk has two children, Brody and Isabella, from an earlier marriage with TV producer Suzanne Bukinik Falchuk. It is not known if the couple is legally divorced or just separated.
