After their 2012 London Olympic Closing Ceremony performance and, before that, a commemorative tour in 2007, the Spice Girls were deemed by many never to reunite again.
However, reports of an impending Spice Girls comeback in 2018, Victoria Beckham included, for a one-off TV special and a compilation album have got the grapevine abuzz and given the fans much to rejoice over and look forward to.
Reportedly, the forthcoming reunion is mainly the result of the efforts put in by Mel C and the band’s original manager Simon Fuller, over the past few months, to get Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell Horner and Victoria Beckham on board for the nostalgic comeback.
If a certain source is to be believed, “secret talks” have been going on between the band members for some time now, and with Victoria Beckham having finally agreed, a 2018 reunion appears to be a foregone conclusion.

“The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion,” the source told The Sun.
‘As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls,” added the source.
“And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion,” the source further said.
Mel B’s bitter divorce from ex-hubby Stephen Belafonte and the birth of Geri’s son Monty seem to have been the “uniting force,” to a large extent, in the girls bonding again.
“The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently,” said the insider who is a former aide and currently working with the girls again.
“Things between them were quite icy at the start of the year,” he said. “But gradually the ice thawed, and Mel was the one who drove that. Mel’s divorce battle also helped to bring them back together, as did the birth of Geri’s son,” he added.
“Plans at the moment are still in the early stages, and everything involving the girls tends to be complicated because they are so busy. It is not easy to get them all in the same place at the same time. But the team behind the reunion are delighted to have made it to this point.”

However, responding to the reunion rumors, a Victoria representative said, “Victoria has said many times, she loved her time in the Spice Girls and continues to be full of affection for the girls and the happy memories they created together, however her future focus is her family and fashion brand.”
Five English girls came together in 1994 to form the all-girl group Spice Girls, which went on to sell 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop phenomenon since Beatlemania.
Melanie Brown or Melanie B was “Scary Spice,” Geri Horner née Halliwell was “Ginger Spice, Emma Bunton “Baby Spice,” Melanie Chisholm “Sporty Spice,” and Victoria Beckham née Adams was “Posh Spice.”
Their debut album, Spice, became the best-selling album by a female group ever, selling more than 31 million copies worldwide. The girls followed it up with Spiceworld which was another hit with sales of more than 20 million copies.
The group announced their split in 2000 to pursue their individual solo careers.
