GLASS

Releasing Jan 18, 2019

The Shyamalan-directed superhero horror-thriller GLASS is the combined sequel to 2000’s ‘Unbreakable’ from Touchstone and 2016’s ‘Split’ from Universal.

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprise their roles as David Dunn and Elijah Price (a.k.a. Glass), respectively, while Split’s James McAvoy makes his comeback as Kevin Wendell Crumb, complete with his multiple personas, including Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig, The Beast, Barry, Orwell, and Jade, to name a few of his 23 identities.

Following the conclusion of Split, David Dunn (Bruce Willis) pursues Kevin Wendell Crumb’s (James McAvoy) superhuman persona of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price (Samuel L. 14-year-old Billy Batson is a Philadelphia-based orphan who moves into his seventh foster home, joining five other foster kids in the Vazquez family.

While traveling on a subway car, one day, Billy gets transported to another realm – the home of his would-be benefactor, the Wizard Shazam.

The wizard gives him the power to transform himself into a grown-up superhero by simply uttering the wizard’s name – SHAZAM.

Each time Billy mentions the name, he is struck by magical bolt of lightning that not only turns him into an adult superhero but also gives him extraordinary powers of six mythical characters, one for each letter of the word SHAZAM, including [S]OLOMON, [H]ERCULES, [A]TLAS, [Z]EUS, [A]CHILLES AND [M]ERCURY.

Billy and his new foster brother Freddy Freeman must now learn how to make the best use of Billy’s newfound powers to vanquish the evil and powerful Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

With the first teaser/trailer still not out, not much is known about this third and final installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy except that there’s still a long wait ahead before the film releases on Dec 20, 2019.

However, there’s a lot of speculation about the movie and fans are desperate to know the fate of Rey and Kylo Ren after the death of Luke Skywalker.

“Fanboys who felt Rian Johnson took their story far, far away from where they wanted it to go were relieved when The Force Awakens helmer J.J. Abrams entered the captain’s chair for this sequel trilogy finale,” notes Rotten Tomatoes.
